About us

Having a good dental manager is the easiest way to increase revenue and have a stress-free, successful dental practice.  Sadly, many office managers have received little or no professional training as an office manager, yet are expected to excel in their role.  IDA institute of Dental Office Managers purpose and objective is to create a capable and competent Dental Office Manager.  Current Office Managers will receive professional training and leave better-rounded with newly acquired skill sets to help their offices reach new heights.  Those with no former experience in a dental office will walk away knowing how to improve any office being well versed in key indicators, techniques to overcome the common difficulties, and in-depth-knowledge of the clinical side of dentistry.

The IDA Institute of Dental Office Managers focuses on the office systems such as scheduling, production, managing insurance, collections, HR, managing for profitability and clinical.  We know that if managers do not comprehensively understand the clinical side of dentistry they cannot effectively present treatment plans.  If they do not understand HR, they will have a difficult time with conflict resolution skills and the hiring and employee review processes.  If they do not understand the business side, they will not know which reports matter and what those reports are telling them about their dental practice.

Whether you are a Dentist looking to train your current or future office manager, if you are an office manager who wants to exploit the full potential of your office, or someone who wants to instantly become marketable in the dental field, this course is for you.

Meet the Instructor

Beth Pugmire
The Pugmire Family

Beth Pugmire began her career in the orthodontic field as an assistant where she worked for 17 years. She later moved to general dentistry as an assistant. She enjoyed it very much, "The bloodier, the better!" she jokes. But, as the years passed she could see more lucrative opportunities working in the front office. It turned out to be a perfect fit.

One of her greatest accomplishments is helping to turn a new practice with a single doctor who worked only 3 days a week, into a million dollar a year practice in just 4 short years. She now has 34 years of experience working in the dental industry and has worked with numerous dental offices as a management consultant.

Beth was born and raised in Utah. She was the only girl of 5 children. She is married with four children. Their oldest daughter is 24 years old, married and living in St. George. They also have twin daughters that are 22, working and attending Weber State University. Their youngest is a 16-yearold son who is an avid athlete, keeping the family busy with football, basketball and track events. Beth enjoys golf, along with gardening and taking care of her home and family.
